Relieve Pain, Enable Function.
Our laser therapy (Photobiomodulation therapy) has been proven to:
- Reduce pain
- Reduce inflammation
- Increase circulation and tissue healing
Laser, also known as Photobiomodulation therapy, is a more natural and non-invasive treatment to get you better faster.
The 75w MLS M8 means shorter treatment times and faster recovery rates. It uses light (red and near infrared light) to increase energy in the cells which increases blood flow, decreases inflammation, and desensitises neural pain, improving your healing and recovery rate.
Whilst this is happening the patented technology is providing pain relief through its multiwave locked system (MLS). The MLS system combines two wavelengths of laser simultaneously , 808nm continuous which reduces inflammation and oedema, and a 905nm super pulsed emission which provides an analgesic effect treating pain and accelerating tissue healing
This all occurs generally with no pain during or after treatment (there is no heat involved) and there are very minimal side effects or contraindications. It is safe for all ages.
We also include exercise prescription to get you stronger and preventing reinjury to keep you moving.
What is relieve pain laser (PBMT) therapy used for?
PBMT has many uses such as
Muscle and tendon injuries – such as plantarfasciitis and achilles tendonopathy amongst many others
Acute injuries such as ankle sprains
Joint conditions (pain and stiffness) and arthritis
Pain management including neuropathy
Post operative pain and swelling
Wound care/regeneration
Bruising/Swelling and cramping
Scar tissue reduction especially post surgery
Both acute and chronic injuries
What is the process?
We start with an initial assessment of your pain including its history and your medical history. We then commence laser treatment if appropriate.
Usual recommendations are 2-3 sessions a week for 2-6 weeks initially depending on severity and duration of pain, then weekly, decreasing to fortnightly depending on progress. Each case is individual and will vary in its needs.
You may then require maintenance sessions for chronic pain at monthly, 2 monthly or 3 monthly intervals. Acute symptoms may not require ongoing treatment.
